First half sinks 15th ranked Cougar soccer at 6th ranked Cowley #GoBarton
A pair of first half goals proved too much of a hole to dig out of as the 15th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer lost 2-0 at Cowley College.
The Cougars three match streak ends in dropping to 4-2 in conference play and 6-2 on the year with Cowley remaining unbeaten at 5-0 in both league and overall.
A pair of nice converted headers gave Cowley the two goal first half lead, the first coming 13:30 into the contest on a deep corner free kick with the next one coming off a cross to the back post with 24:18 left in the half.
Barton were more organized and had some quality first half possessions but were unable to unleash but just a few quality shots once reaching deep in the Cowley defense.
Cowley missed a great scoring chance wide of the frame three minutes into the final forty-five and controlled most of the action in the early stages.
The Cougars began to makes changes and schemes mid-way through the half resulting in a number of scoring opportunities but couldn't find the net.
Barton returns home for its next contest on Saturday in a 4:00 p.m. kick hosting Kansas City Kansas Community College.
