The 15th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team survived a cold and windy day in Garden City Monday evening, braving temperatures dipping into the 30's to reel up a 2-0 shutout at Garden City Community College.
Improving to 4-1 in conference play and 6-1 on the year, the victory sets up an early season 7:30 p.m. Wednesday showdown at unbeaten 6th ranked Cowley College. Garden City remains winless on the season dropping to 0-5 in league and 0-5 overall.
The Cougars received the only goal they needed in the 14th minute as Vladyslav Peretyatko's third goal of the year put away Genildo Postimo's first collegiate assist. Postimo would later put the game on ice with an 88th minute net shaker from Gabrielle Privitera's team leading third assist.
Following Wednesday's road trip to Cowley, Barton returns home for its next context in a 4:00 p.m. kick hosting Kansas City Kansas Community College.
