The 17th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team launched and launched a myriad of shots Thursday at Cougar Field, rattling the nets for a 7-0 victory over Southeast Community College.
The victory improves Barton to 3-0 on the season in dropping Southeast to 0-4.
The Cougars return to conference action on Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. kick at Neosho County Community College.
Barton's scoring came 10:22 into the contest on Vladyslav Peretyatko strike near post rebounding Sato's shot on goal
Fourteen minutes later as the Cougars had launched 13 shots in the first twenty-four minutes, Cesar Rodriguez hammered home Elijah Williams' shot on goal from a tight angle to center net.
Two more shots rattled the net in a span of two minutes, beginning with Shizu Yohena's rocket to near post from the edge of the 18 before reigning Conference Player of the Week Felipe D'Agostini outworked the Southeast defense on breakaway, utilized some fancy work around defender and the goalkeeper the struck left footed to the far post.
Cougars' twenty-four opening half shots were one less than the second 45-minute barrage resulting in three more goals on the scoreboard.
Just 63 seconds into final half, Peretyatko sent a perfect cross across the box to Yohena for a back post finish.
Another pin-point pass set up a mid-half goal as D'Agnostini sent a through ball to Rodriguez as his one-touch to far post joined Yohena with a pair of net rattlers on the day.
Pedro Maximiano closed out the scoring with 5:46 remaining, drilling a penalty shot after fouled in the box capping the 7-0 victory.
