Quick strike 17th ranked Cougars roll to home opener victory #GoBarton

In less than two minutes the 17th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team put up four goals in Monday's home opener, rolling to a 7-0 victory over York College.

Barton improves to 2-0 on the season with its next contest also coming at Cougar Field in a 4:00 p.m. kick hosting Southeast Community College.

The Cougars began the contest with two net rattlers 46 seconds apart in the first three minutes of the contest. Pedro Maximiano banged in the first on a rebound from a thwarted corner kick with Felipe D'Agostini rattling the net far post from Gabrielle Privitera's thru ball.

Eight minutes later D'Agnostini struck again in dribbling around the York defenders before sending a laser far post with 34:46 left on the clock.

Pasquale Degaetano pushed the margin to four with 2:28 left in the half taking a rebound shot in chipping to the far post over the keeper.

Midway through the second frame Privitera struck from the backside of the defense, putting away Chase Clausing's through ball.

The Cougars struck in quick succession late in the contest on Wilber Landaverde's hammering to the net from Hayato Kawamoto's forward pass with sixty seconds later Cesar Rodgriquez rattled the net for the Cougars' final time putting away David Lopez' feed from the midfield.

Yuki Nishigaki earned the collegiate victory in net as the Cougar defense stood resilient in not allowing any York shots despite a gusty south wind.
