Late goal sends Barton Soccer to consecutive loss

Coming off a tough loss on Wednesday, the Barton Community College men's soccer team couldn't rebound back to the win column on Saturday falling 2-1 at Pratt Community College.  Following a scoreless first half, the Cougars couldn't make an early second half goal stand up as the Beavers put two on the board including the game winner with just under five minutes to play to split the season series after Barton's 3-1 victory back on September 14.  The second straight loss dropped the Cougars into the third spot in the Jayhawk West at 2-3 and 5-3 on the season while Pratt moved ahead to second place improving to 4-2 and 6-4 on the year.  Barton will get back to the pitch on Wednesday traveling to Garden City Community College for a 4:00 p.m. kick.

Mario Ramirez gave the Cougars the early second half lead just 3:23 into play finishing off the executed play from Vinicius Monteiro and Benjamin Zamora.  The Beavers would strike back eight minutes later as Simon Christidis distributed to Aaron Grant for the equalizer.

The Beavers produced the game winner with just 4:48 on the clock as Jordan Stubbings struck the game winner from Nerlin Rivera.
