In the only game for the Cougars this past week, freshman Bruce Turner kept the sheet clean in Barton's 1-0 victory over Neosho County Community College. Aided by a stout defensive team effort limiting the Panthers to only six shots, Turner turned away three shots on frame including a couple of big saves preserving the Cougars' victory.
The award is the fourth weekly honor for the Cougars this season as Turner and Sousa gave Barton a sweep of the awards in week five. Sousa also went on to win the award in week six as well.
Barton, just outside the newly released NJCAA weekly poll at 4-1-0 in conference play and 9-1-0 on the season, will be put to the test this Saturday traveling to No. 17 Garden City Community College (5-1-0, 9-1-1) for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off.
