Barton fully utilized the first forty-minutes of the first half as the Cougars got on the board literally seconds before the intermission horn. Rushing to get a corner kick off in the waning seconds, Renan Sousa rebounded his own kick deep beyond the 18' to send the ball back into the box to a leaping Dominic Swindler who perfectly timed the header to the back of the net for the eventual game winner.
Again the Cougars struck late in a half as Barton put the icing on the cake with just 3:02 remaining in the contest. Following an Allen yellow card, Jaime Cox's free kick seventy-yards from goal found Matt Sherrod slipping past the Red Devil defense. Sherrod settled the pass then blasted a far post goal giving the Cougars the two goal cushion.
