Still searching for their first victory of the season, the Barton Community College men's soccer team had to settle for their second tie of the season with a 1-1 double overtime decision with Dodge City Community College Wednesday at the Cougar Soccer/Track Complex.  The tie moves Barton's record to 0-2-2 on the season while Dodge City stands at 2-1-1.  Barton will next play Saturday in a 4:00 p.m. conference contest at Allen County Community College.

With south winds of more than 20mph throughout the contest, the teams took advantage scoring lone goals in regulation play.  Gian Scalise gave the Cougars the early lead 9:30 into the contest taking a Jiro Barriga Toyama pass down the left side then beating Dodge City keeper Alex Rodela in the top 90 of near post.

Changing directions for second half play, Dodge City wasted little time in tying up the affair just 6:15 into the half.   Fielding a Conq corner kick, Ben Carter's shot in the 8' found the right boot of Fernando Hernandez to get it past a defenseless Austin Kail to even up the contest.

Barton outshot Dodge City 26-15 overall with a narrow 10-8 advantage on shots on goal.  The Cougars launched nineteen of those with the wind at their back while Dodge City managed thirteen with same conditions.
