Cougar golf opens spring season at Oakwood Intercollegiate.
Back on the course after five months from its last meet, the Barton Community College men's golf team opened its Spring 2025 portion of the schedule this week with a 15th placing at the Oakwood Intercollegiate held at the Oakwood Country Club in Enid, Oklahoma.
Consisting of ten teams in their respective divisional national rankings, the 33rd ranked Cougars compiled an 85-over team score on rounds of 312-317-308.
Ted Gemzell's 37th placing of the 92-man field led the Cougars at 15-over 228 on a pair of 77 rounds on Monday followed by a 3-over 74 Tuesday final card.
Kaleb Lambert was next at 55th overall with a 19-over 232 following first day cards of 76 and 79 to finish up the three rounds with a 77.
Next on the squad was Martin Chevallier in 65th, carding first and third rounds of 78 with an 81 on Monday afternoon's card for a 24-over 237.
Three strokes back at 27-over 237 in 75th was Matteu Cauvin-Piacentini on consistent 81-80-79 cards with Wintakorn Suwanmuang shaking off a rough 94 opening round with a pair of 81 rounds to place 90th overall at 43-over 256.
The trip south provided a tune-up for conference play beginning April 14-15 at Manhattan's Colbert Hills Golf Course.
