Consistency leads Cougar golf to 4th place finish

The Barton Community College men's golf team backed up its strong season opening performance this past Monday at McPherson's Turkey Creek Golf Course, tying for fourth place in the second Jayhawk Conference meet of the 2013-14 season.  Coming off a third place finish in the first meet of the season, the Cougars shot 311 for both eighteen holes scoring a 622 to tie Garden City Community College at thirty-four strokes over par.  Barton will have a couple of weeks off from competition before the third conference meet held October 7 at The Championship Course at Alvamar in Lawrence, Kansas. 

Sophomore Jeremie Eloy cracked the top ten for the second time in his career leading the Cougars with a fourteen-over-par 154 to finish tied for 9th place.  Alex Hoblemann and Landon Fox both finished tied for 13th one stroke behind Eloy with a fifteen-over-par 155.  Koby Beougher, who led the Cougars in the first meet, finished in 25th place with a twenty-over-par 160 while Zack Proffitt's thirty-four-over-par 174 rounded out the Cougar team. Competing as an individual, Bryer Livermore fired a final round 79 to climb the ranks to 36th place carding a twenty-seven-over-par 167.
