Trio of Cougars' place inside Top 30 at the NAIA West Region #GoBarton

Traveling to the eastern part of the state this past weekend, the Barton Community College men's bowling team experienced a combination of highs and lows this weekend at the NAIA West Region 1 and 2 held at the Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, KS.

Competing against all four-year programs over both days, the Cougars opened the NAIA West Region weekend with a seventh-place finish in the 17-team field destructing 4,667 pins over five-individual team games.

Earning Saturday's team title was Ottawa University with 5,159 pins, besting runner-up rivals Kansas Wesleyan University by 254 pins.

Leading Barton in the 109-participant field was Cole Brown's 20th place finish tossing a five-game total 993. Brown reached the 200-platoue a trio of times finishing with an average 198.6 to go along with a team highest single game 214 coming in the middle game.

Campbell Peterson fell five pins shy of tying for team high honors placing 22nd with a five round total 988. The freshman remained consistent over all five rolled games remaining within 18-pins of his top third game score of 205.

Rounding out Barton's top 20 finishers was Carter Lambeth's 27th, 961. Lambeth averaged a 192.2 over his five bowled games with both of his 200-plus rounds coming in the final two contests carding a 208 and 202.

Also competing over Saturday's action was Logan Lindsley's 44th five game 892, Braydon Bastin's four game 694 for 70th and Torrey Lindsay's lone game of 139 for 107th.

Returning for Sunday's NAIA West Regional 2, Barton dipped sixth places over the 25-Baker games finishing 13th with a 4,520-pin count.

Hastings College claimed Sunday's title with a 25-game Baker score 5,317 with William Penn University finishing runner-up with 5,090 pins.

The Cougars will have three weeks off to prepare for the 2025 NJCAA Bowling Championships held February 27th – March 1st at the Airport Lanes in Cheektowga, New York.
