Barton Bowling completes two-day weekend at the Eagle Invitational I and II
The Barton Community College bowling teams returned to Missouri this past weekend for the Eagle Invitational I and II held at Aaron's Family Fun Center in Belton, Missouri.
Competing as the lone two-year program over the two separate tournaments that featured Saturday's five-individual team games and Sunday's 25-baker block, the Lady Cougars mended a pair of 11th place finishes while their counterpart Barton men settled for an 11th and 12th placing.
Next up for the Cougar bowling teams is a shorter trip east for the NAIA West Open held Saturday and Sunday at the Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas.
Men Recap
On the men's side, Barton opened the weekend carding an 11th place 4,616 pin accumulation over the five-individual team games.
Campbell Peterson led the six-pack of Cougars tossing a 25th highest five-game 1,005. The freshman surpassed the 200-mark in three of the five games for a team highest 201 average highlighted behind his top single game 254 secured in the second.
Sophomore Torrey Lindsay slipped 16 spots back with a 41st finish blasting 956 pins in his five games. Lindsey delivered the Cougars highest single game score in the second game with a 257 to edge out Peterson's 254.
Cole Brown slipped by teammate Logan Lindsley by one pin as the duo rolled five game totals 937 and 936 to finish 50th and 51st respectfully.
Braydon Bastin and Alex Wheat concluded the Barton scoring with 109th and 121st placings.
Oklahoma Christian University topped the 14-team field in Saturday's action with a best pin fall of 5,165 with host Avila University falling runner-up by 48 pins with a 5,117 accumulation.
Returning 12 hours later for Sunday's 25-baker games, the Barton men closed the weekend with a 12th place finish amassing 4,616 pins.
Posting a 10th place finish in Saturday's action, Ottawa University made the biggest jump between the two events claiming Sunday's team title compiling 5,047 pins while Quincy University fell 22 pins shy in the runner-up slot with 5,025.

Women Recap
Returning to action for the first time in 10 weeks, the shorthanded Lady Cougars turned in a Saturday total 3,110 pin fall for 11th place over the five individual team games.
Directing Barton's six-pack in the 91-participant field was Alexis Wareman's 22nd five game 841. The freshman averaged a team best 168 per 10-frames with Wareman's highest game tossed coming at the midway point with a third game 240 to also top the squad.
Ellie Weeks concluded the other top-50 performance with a 48th top destruction of 720 pins over the freshman's five rolled games.
Falling 12 spots back of Weeks was Hope Resendiz' in 60th with 613 while Zoe Wimmer and Jordan McKenzie went 74th and 75th behind 430 and 423 respectfully.
Freshman McKenzie Craig rounded out the Cougar lineup bowling just one game for an 83 carding and 91st finish.
McPherson College bested the 12-team field on Saturday with a 4,327 team score to edge out runner-up Columbia College's 4,294.
Missouri Baptist University's Kassandra Foss claimed the individual title with a five game 954 to edge out the duo of McPherson College's Veronyca West and Alyssa Purcelli's 945 and 939.
In Sunday's 25-baker games, the Cougars held steady in 11th with 3,386 pins while Ottawa University claimed the team title with 4,400 to slip past Missouri Baptist University's runner-up 4,284 and McPherson College's third place 4,210.
