Moore's top-five finishes carry Barton Bowling at the SWIBC I and SWIBC II #GoBarton

The Barton Community College men's bowling team had a successful opening road trip this past weekend bringing home a pair of top-10 finishes in the SWIBC I and SWIBC II held at the USA Super Bowl in Dallas, Texas.

Competing as the lone two-year program in the tier-2 tournament, the Cougars managed an opening day sixth place finish over five individual rounds and 12 baker games while wrapping the weekend Sunday producing a fifth place showing in the seven individual team games.

Tallying 6,584 pins in the SWIBC I, Barton managed a sixth-place conclusion outlasting seventh place Spring Hill College's 6,434 score while falling 192 pins shy of Kansas Wesleyan University. Bryce Moore guided the Cougars individually with a fourth place five game high of 985 pins in the 142-participant field. The sophomore posted the teams highest single game score of 237 while also booking the highest team 10-frame average of 197.

Braden Boswell and Oscar Rubio followed Moore individually tying for 60th overall each conducting a total of 728 over four games toss.

Fielding a second team, the Cougars earned a fourth place finish out of the seven duplicate teams with a team total of 5,859. Leading the Barton "B" team was Aidan VanMetre's 73rd place 668 mark.

Sunday's Recap
In Sunday's SWIBC II, Barton regrouped with a stronger showing over the seven individual team games with the Cougars bettering their Saturday finish leaping two spots in the 15-team field tipping over 6,299 pins edging out the previous day's winner Drury University's 6,273 output. Claiming the team title was Oklahoma Christian University producing a best overall pin count of 6,752 edging out Texas-San Antonio University by six pins.

Bryce Moore with his third place award at the SWIBC II Sustaining the momentum from Saturday's top-five finish, Moore delivered once more in a big way earning a third-place finish in the 145-participant field destroying 1,493 pins. The Great Bend, KS native bettered his Saturday team high average with a 209.3 while achieving three games over the 200-mark with a game high 257 in the third of his seven rolled games.

V-Thoon Thanasouk and Griffin Peterson manufactured a pair of solid day two improvements as the duo leaped up 92 and 56 spots in less than 24-hours with finishes of 19th and 28th respectfully.

Unlike their counterparts the Barton "B" team slipped one spot in Sunday's competition earning a fifth place 5,343 dropping two pins shy of fourth place Texas A&M University "B".

Caleb Murphy paced the Cougars "B" team with a 71st finish improving his Saturday's outing by 54 spots.

Barton's next action comes closer to home next weekend at the tier-1 Mid-States Championships held in Wichita, KS featuring perennial NCAA Division I, Division II and NAIA programs.
