Opening the 2022-23 season, the Barton Community College men's bowling team pieced together one placing in its' dual match against four-year school Ottawa University, Wednesday afternoon at the Walnet Bowl.
Knocking down a total of 7,776 pins over three doubles, three singles and five baker games, the Cougars dropped the dual by X pins as the Braves knocked down 8,462.
Leading Barton on the afternoon was Chaz Smith's third place individual finish as the freshman tallied 570 pins falling 24 back of Ottawa's Josh King's runner-up 594 and 37 behind the individual title of Jared Freed's 607 output.
The Cougars will return to the lanes this weekend traveling down to Dallas, Texas for a pair of tier-1 tournaments in the SWIBC-1 and SWIBC-II held on Saturday and Sunday from the USA Super Bowl.
