Barton Men's Bowling places sixth at NJCAA Championships; Moore becomes programs first All-American #GoBarton

The Barton Community College men's bowling team secured its' first NJCAA All-American while posting its' second straight sixth place team finish at this weekend's NJCAA Championships held at the Royal Scot Golf and Bowl in Lansing, Michigan.

The Cougars manufactured 12,759 pins over the two-days of competition tallying a fifth best 5534 pins in the doubles/singles portion adding scores of 2,802 and 2,718 in the pair of five man events while concluding the tournament event with scores of 544, 546 and 515 in the trio of three game baker blocks falling 154 pins short of fifth place Hawkeye Community College.

Claiming the team title was Rock Valley College winning its' second title in the last three years totaling a top score of 14,065 among the 22-participant field. Iowa Central Community College secured its' third straight runner-up finish falling just 119 back of the Golden Eagles.

Bryce Moore became the program's first ever All-American finishing the overall tournament with the seventh best score of 2,460 in the 131-competitor field. Rock Valley's James Stewart claimed the individual national champion crown tossing a score of 2808.

Posting seven of his 12 games over the 200-mark, Moore averaged a tournament score of 205. The freshman finished his three individual games with the eighth best score of 646 posting the teams highest round of 237 in the opening game. Moore and Griffin Peterson tallied Barton's second-best team mark as the duo scored a 23rd placing knocking over 1,104 pins with Moore turning in Barton's second highest team individual score of 593.

Andrew Harden generated the team's second highest individual finish in the tournament carding a 2,250-score earning a 33rd place finish. Hardin ended three of his 12 games above the 200-mark tallying his highest score of 213 in his second individual game. Hardin and Alec Eiskamp pieced together the top doubles score for the Cougars concluding the three games with the 23rd best score of 1,104 with Hardin whacking down a team high doubles score of 613 with Eiskamp adding a 505.

Peterson managed the third highest individual performance with a 58th placing bowling 11 games and knocking down 1,996 pins edging out Dylan Depperschmidt's 69th total of 1,898.

Conner Eastman and Caleb Carr teamed up for the teams third best doubles result combinding for 1,064 pins with Carr finishing fourth on the team in doubles scoring with 540 pins.
