Craig "Fletch" Fletchall begins his 12th season leading the Cougars.  Fletchall owns the most wins in Barton men’s basketball history, entering the 2016-17 season with a 247-103 overall record (.706) and a 104-73 (.588) record in the rugged Jayhawk Conference.  Throughout Fletchall’s collegiate coaching career, his record entering the season is 348-161, good for a .683 win percentage.

This past season the Cougars were 18-13 overall finishing tied for fifth in the fourteen team rugged Jayhawk Conference.  Two Cougars earned All-Conference honors with one being named to the All-Region VI Division I team.

Two seasons ago the Cougars went 24-7 on the season with a second place 12-4 record in the Jayhawk West.  Finishing just outside the final NJCAA Division I poll, Barton spent time in the Top-25 splitting the season series with No. 7 Butler Community College while sweeping No. 23 Hutchinson Community College.  Three Cougars garnered All-Jayhawk West honors with Ahmad Walker becoming the 16th Cougar and 5th in the Fletchall era to earn NJCAA Division I All-American honors.

During the 2013-14 season, the Cougars fell in the first round of the Region VI playoffs to conclude the season at 20-11 overall and a tie for third place at 8-6 in the tough West division.  The season also saw Fletchall assume the top spot in Barton history as on November 8, 2013, Fletchall picked up win #189 earning the top spot for wins in Barton men's basketball history surpassing Dan McGovern’s 188 mark set during the 1986-1994 seasons.

A season prior Fletchall guided the Cougars to a 28-6 season, 12-4 in the division, ending the season one victory away from the NJCAA Division I Tournament and finishing at #24 in the nation.  The Cougars captured a road quarterfinal victory then knocked off the Jayhawk West regular season champion before falling in the Region VI Championship game to the nation’s number nine ranked team.

Fletchall guided the Cougars to a 26-7 record in the 2011-12 season and ten consecutive weeks in the NJCAA Division I Top 20.  After knocking off the #5 ranked team in the country in the Region VI quarterfinals, the Cougars season came to an end in the semifinals.

Under Fletchall the Cougars have spent a lot of time ranked in the NJCAA Top 25 with the highest ranking coming in the 2011-12 season as Barton climbed all the way to 7th in the polls. This matched the feat of his 2009 team that captured the Jayhawk West title but lost in the Region VI semifinals.

Prior to coming to Barton, Coach Fletchall was the head coach at Neosho County Community College, where he has spent 5 seasons with the Panthers. In his final season at Neosho, Coach Fletchall guided Neosho to the Region VI finals for the 1st time in school history. The Tigers were ranked as high as 12th that year - the highest in history at Neosho. His 5-year mark guiding the Panthers was 101-58.

Coach Fletchall has spent most of his career in the Jayhawk Conference and its surrounding communities. He grew up in Hutchinson and went to college at Wichita State University and Fort Hays State University. He spent 11 seasons in the high school ranks, winning a state title at Hutch Trinity in 1987. Trinity was where Coach Fletchall started his coaching career, going 40-9 in his 2 seasons with the state title in 1987. After winning the state title, Coach Fletchall moved on to Wichita Kapaun Mount Carmel where he guided the Crusaders for three seasons before taking the job at Shawnee Mission East. In his 6 years at East, his clubs went 86-47 and posted the school record for number of wins at 19 in his final season in 1996. His teams won back-to-back Sub State titles (the only time in school history). He earned league Coach of the Year honors at Trinity (1987) and East (1993). Coach Fletchall was 146-99 in his 11 seasons at the high school level.

Beginning his service in the Jayhawk Conference as an assistant at Cowley County for 3 seasons, the Tigers set the school record for wins in 2 of those 3 seasons. In 1998 – Coach Fletchall’s initial season at Cowley – the Tigers won 25 games only to better that mark in 2000 at 26. From there he moved on to Neosho where he took the Panthers to within a game of the NJCAA National Tournament.
