Cougar men fall on road to 10th ranked Dodge City #GoBarton

Barton Men's Basketball score result at Dodge City Community College

The Barton Community College men's basketball team led early but unfortunately it was one of the few bright spots Saturday afternoon in Dodge City as the 10th ranked Dodge City Community College Conquistadors cruised to a 94-77 victory.

The loss snaps Barton's two game winning streak as the Cougars conclude the first trip through the rugged Jayhawk Conference at 4-7 and dip to 10-7 on the season while the Conquistadors remain perfect at home at 9-0 improving their conference mark to 11-1 and overall record to 16-2.

Barton will have a quick turnaround heading back west Monday for a 7:30 p.m. tip against Garden City Community College.

Nine Barton players reached the scoring column with Cougar Downing leading two Cougars in double digits with 19 points while dishing out a team high eight assists. Myles Thompson rounded out the double-figure scoring adding 14 points off the bench and hauling down a team high seven rebounds.

Oumar Koureissi led all scorers with 23 points and five Conquistadors in double-figures. B.J. Freeman contributed 19, former Cougar KeAndre Bowles added a game high 16 points off the bench. Themus Fulks posted the lone double-double scoring 12 points while distributing 10 assists with Kalen Williams rounding out the double-figure scoring for Dodge City finishing with 11.
