Men's Basketball player Evans Kipruto and Women's Basketball player Lili Shubert have been named the week 15 "Barton Sports Weekly Athletic Award Honors" sponsored by Great Bend's Identifications Company.

Evans Kipruto had a consistent week for the Cougars averaging 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over two contests. The big man led four Barton players with 17 points while grabbing eighth rebounds and swatting four shots in Barton's 67-65 road loss to Cowley. The sophomore remained the offensive catalyst for the Cougars in Saturday's loss to 5th ranked Hutchinson Community College, leading the squad for the second straight game scoring 16 points and hauling down seven rebounds.

Lili Shubert recorded a pair of career high performances averaging eight points and seven rebounds over Barton's 1-1 week. Making her first collegiate start in Tuesday's road contest at Cowley, the freshman pulled down a career and game high 11 rebounds while adding in five points. The Wakeeney, KS native carried the momentum into Saturday's 58-54 upset victory over 21st ranked Hutchinson Community College, adding a career high 11 points, pulling down three rebounds and dishing out three assists. 

The Cougar basketball teams will return to the hardwood with a trip to Independence Community College Wednesday evening for a 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. start times.
