The Barton Community College men's basketball team completed the second half of Saturday's doubleheader sweep at the Barton Gym, pulling away for an 89-67 victory over Butler Community College.

Earning its largest margin of victory in the series since 2008, Barton improves to 3-2 in Jayhawk play and 12-2 on the season while dropping Butler to 2-4 and 9-6 overall. The Cougars' next contest comes on Wednesday with a road trip to Concordia for an 8:00 p.m. tip-off at Cloud County Community College.

Returning to action from a seven game absence due to injury, Elijah Ford was a monster in his twenty-eight minutes on the court, dumping in twenty-two points on 10-of-12 shots and grabbing half of his ten rebounds on the offensive glass to post his first double-double of the season.

All fourteen players saw action with Martin Vogts the only other Cougar to reach double digits with fifteen points including 3-of-6 from long range. Akeem White and Dallas Bryson each dropped in ten point nights with Leondre Washington and Diovonte Caldwell dropping five and four dimes respectively. Demarcus Morris made his Cougar debut with a perfect two shots from the field including knocking down his first attempt, burying a second half three-pointer in front of the Barton student section.

Kamron Brice led all players in scoring, coming off the bench for the Grizzlies for twenty-three points. Mohamed Fofana also came off the bench to add twelve while Juwan White scored eleven.

Barton pounded the offensive glass all night to the tune of seventeen rebounds in outrebounding the Grizzlies by eleven. The Cougars were also consistent from inside the arc in both halves as the region's top shooting team finished at just shy of 48% despite an off-night from long range in connecting for just 30%. Defensively the Cougars held Butler to just 35.5% shooting in the opening half in opening up a thirteen point margin to the intermission.
