The Barton Community College men’s basketball team broke away early in second half play Wednesday night at the Barton Gym earning a 91-81 victory over Pratt Community College to sweep the season series over the Beavers. Leading by one at the break, the Cougars gained separation in the first five minutes of the second half while keeping Pratt out of striking range the rest of the way to win their third straight over the Beavers. The victory also clinched at least a tie for a second place finish in the rugged Jayhawk Conference improving to 18-6 and 22-6 on the year while dropping Pratt to 7-17 and 9-18 overall. Barton will next travel to Coffeyville Community College on Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off before wrapping up the regular season on Monday in the hosting of Neosho County Community College.
