The Barton Community College men's basketball team held off a pesky Colby Community College Wednesday night at the Barton Gym escaping with a 65-60 victory.  The Cougars increased their ten point halftime edge to eighteen points midway through the final half only to see the Trojans fight back behind an 11-3 run drawing to within four with two minutes to play.  Colby would cut the deficit to three with under a minute of action remaining but 7-of-8 free throw shooting down the stretch sealed the Barton win.   The Cougars will next head to Garden City on Sunday for a 7:00 p.m. matchup against the Broncbusters.

Noah Webster came off the bench to lead the Cougars knocking down 3-of-6 behind the arc finishing with nineteen points.  Malik Rhodes and Anthony Smith each contributed fourteen with Jahlil Rawley adding ten going 3-of-5 from long distance.  Keeshawn Palmer led with nine rebounds coming off the bench as did John Barbee in distributing a team high three assists.

Caleal Walker's fourteen points and five steals led the Trojans with Shaq Athie scoring twelve with seven rebounds giving Colby a six rebound edge on the glass.  Drew Young came off the bench to add ten points.
