Rally comes up short as Barton men fall at Colby
The Barton Community College men’s basketball team rally came up two points short Wednesday night in Colby as the Cougars fell 70-68 to Colby Community College. Just like the first meeting between the two clubs, Barton found itself playing from behind all night but launching a rally in the closing moments falling just short in winning their fifth straight at the Community Building. The Cougars drop to 9-7 in the Jayhawk and 17-10 on the season while Colby’s first sweep over Barton since 2004 jumps the Trojans to a half game behind the Cougars in the standings at 8-7 and 15-10 overall. Next up for the Cougars is another road trip as Barton will travel to Liberal for an 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening contest at Seward county Community College before its home finale on Wednesday, February 17.
