Cougars hold off Northwest, Gibson and Corley record double-doubles

The Barton Community College men's basketball team picked up its sixth win of the early season with an eight point 76-68 win over Northwest Kansas Technical College Friday afternoon at the Legends Classic in Salina, Kansas.  The Cougars controlled most of the game but needed a late 7-0 run to break a 61-all tie to get the victory.  Barton improves to 6-1 on the season and drops Northwest to 3-4.  Barton will next play Southeast Community College at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

Darius Gibson led the Cougars with his second double-double of the season scoring twenty-one points and grabbing eleven rebounds.  Point guard Tyler Corley posted his first double-double performance scoring seventeen points while dishing out ten assists.  Isaac Williams' 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc and Darryln Johnson's 4-of-5 performance from the field rounded out the double-digit scorers for Barton as each scored ten points.

Jackson Hussey led five double-digit scorers for Northwest with fourteen points while Oshey Washington was close behind with thirteen to go along with eight rebounds.  Lamar Britton, Gian Clavell, and James Sylvester each dropped ten while Marcus Walden led in rebounds with nine.
