Second half run leads No. 25 ranked Cougars to conference road blowout over Dodge
For the last fourteen minutes the No. 25 Barton Community College men’s basketball team put the hammer down on Dodge City Community College and ran away with a 73-53 victory Wednesday at the United Wireless Arena. Tied at 40 the Cougars went on a 26-2 run in a ten minute span to cruise to the win and keep within reach of the number two Jayhawk West seed improving to 7-3 in conference and 20-4 overall. The loss drops Dodge City to 4-6 in conference and 12-12 overall. The Cougars return home Saturday to take on Garden City Community College in a 7:30 p.m. tip at the Barton Gym.

Algie Key's thirty points led three Cougars in double-digit scoring. It was the third time this season and sixth in his career Key reached the thirty-point plateau. Turon Parker scored thirteen with a team high five assist to go along with three steals. Shaka Thomas came off the bench to tie a career high eleven points. Andell Cumberbatch just missed his seventh double-double in ten conference games scoring nine points to also lead the Cougars with thirteen rebounds.
Delvon Rencher and Aaron Tate led the Conquistadors with twelve and ten points respectively.
