Matt was a 2-time 1st team All State selection at Great Bend High School, helping the Panthers to a 3 state tournament appearances and 2 state titles. He averaged 18.6 points a game as a senior along with 11 rebounds. As a junior he scored 14.5 points a contest and averaged 10.6 rebounds. He lettered all 4 years for the Panthers and started 3 years.
