Marcus started one year and lettered one year playing for Malcolm X. Shabazz High School. As a senior, he averaged 13 points, 5 assists, and 2 rebounds per game. Marcus shot 48 percent from the floor, 20 percent from the stripe, and 35 percent from beyond the arc. He helped his team clinch a 2001 Conference Championship and the 2001 State Title. Marcus also earned All Conference and All City selections.
