Cougars roll to road win over Cloud; showdown with Saints next
The Barton County Community College men's basketball team had little trouble in winning it's 7th consecutive contest of the season, rolling by Cloud County 93-74 in Concordia Wednesday night.

The win moves No. 7 Barton County to 20-2 overall and 7-1 in the Jayhawk West for the season. Cloud County falls to 14-8 overall and an even 4-4 in the conference.

Highlights
The Cougars made sure not to look past a dangerous Cloud County team in setting up a showdown between a pair of Top 10 ranked teams Saturday. Seward County, No. 4, will visit Barton County Saturday in a battle of 20-2 teams. The outright lead in the West will be on the line.

Against Cloud County, Barton jumped to an early lead and never looked back. The Cougars led by as many as 16 in the opening half, taking a 46-34 lead into halftime. The Cougars continued to dominate in the second half, never letting Cloud County within single digits and leading by as many as 27 in the contest.

Barton County had four players reach double figures, led by Robert Whaley with 22 points. He also grabbed 9 rebounds. Randy Pulley recorded another double-double, but this time it wasn't with points and assists. The sophomore point guard tossed in 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He also had six assists. Rodney Epperson added 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Stan King came off the bench to reach double figures for the second straight game, netting 11.

The T-Birds were paced sophomore D'Andre McGrew, who led all scorers with 35 points. Dramane Diarra added 15.

The Cougars and Seward County will pit identical 20-2 overall and 7-1 West marks against each other Saturday in a battle for 1st place in the West. The game will tip at the Barton County Gym at 8 p.m.
