Barton rolls by Lee College; goes 2-0 at Pizza Hut Classic
The Barton County Community College men's basketball team improved to 7-0 for the year, capturing two games at the Pizza Hut Classic this weekend at the Barton County Gym. The Cougars wrapped up the event Saturday with a 115-89 win over Lee College (Texas). Friday night Barton defeated the Bethel College JV team, 101-51.

In the other two contests at the Pizza Hut Classic, Lee College rolled to a 107-37 win over the Sterling College JV Friday and Sterling knocked off Bethel Saturday, 71-64.

Barton won the Classic with a 2-0 mark with Lee College taking 2nd.

Highlights
Barton County made its first 10 shots from the field against Lee College, bolting to an early lead on the Rebels and never looked back. Barton led by as many as 24 points in the opening half, building a 59-39 lead at the intermission. Lee never got closer than final score of 16 points.

Stan King scored a career-high to lead the No. 1 ranked Cougars, netting 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the floor. King also dished out six assists in the win. Randy Pulley also had a career-high for the Cougars with 23 points and led Barton with eight assists. Pulley also had three steals and five rebounds.

Five players scored in double figures in the win over Lee as Rodney Epperson added 16, Nouha Diakite 14, and Mauricio Branwell 12. Lee was paced by Joe Thompson with 23 and Henry Uhegwn with 22. Brannon Hayes added 20.

In the win over Sterling College JV Friday night, Barton County got a career-high 15 points from Richard Chavez and 18 points from Robert Whaley. Josh Rose added a career-high 10 points as well it the win. Barton led in the contest 52-19 at half.
