Landon Robl playing Super Smash Brothers in NJCAA Playoffs

Anthony Twiggs led the Barton Community College esports program in the opening week of the postseason. Three Cougars saw their seasons come to a close while Tiggs advances to next week's semifinal action in NBA2K.

Opening the postseason on Tuesday with a battle against an unblemished Ocean County College opponent, Landon Robl's upset bid fell short in Super Smash Brothers falling in four straight games concluding his season with a 6-4 season mark.

Coming off a third place finish in the fall championships, Davon Morris' hopes of another deep postseason ride would be crushed dropping a tightly 2-1 contest to Texas Southern University capping a 3-5 spring record.

Sneaking into the playoffs as the 32nd seed, Cesar Robles had a tough go about with top ranked Bryant & Stratton suffering a 3-0 defeat concluding a strong 6-3 season.

Riding a seven game winning streak following a week one loss, Twiggs continued the streak rattling off a comfortable 3-0 victory over Carl Albert State advancing into the NJCAA esports quarterfinals. Twiggs made it nine straight advancing via forfeit over No. 14 Penn Highlands securing a spot in Thursday's 7:00 p.m. semifinal tilt with No. 2 Gogebic. The winner will advance into Saturday's May 1st Championship against the winner of No.1 Bryant Stratton and No. 4 Carl Albert State.
