Barton esports back on track concluding 5-3 week #GoBarton

The Barton Community College esports program pieced together its' best week of the spring season conducting a 5-3 record.

Just three weeks into the spring portion of the schedule, the Cougars improve their mark to 10-13 overall.

Fresh off a bye Overwatch notched their first win of the season in a 3-1 victory against Shawnee Community College. Jumping out to a 1-0 lead with a map one (2-0) victory, the Cougars fell on the short end of the stick in a tightly contested map two affair (3-2). Looking for the break through punch Barton secured the best of five series with dominating map three and four performances.

Barton suffered a 2-1 defeat to Northeastern Technical College in Smash action with sophomore Landon Robl improving his season record to 3-0 individually earning the lone victory for the Cougars in a 4-1 decision. Teammates Bryce Boltman and Trent Keffer fell to 0-3 on the season in Smash action following 4-0 defeats.

In Rocket League, the Cougars went down 4-0 to St. Clair Community College dipping the season mark to 1-2 on the season.

NBA2K was much friendlier to the Cougars this week as Barton swept the action. Cesar Robles extended his winning streak to two straight in a 2-0 victory over Northern Essex Community College, while Brayden Clare notched his first victory of the season with a 2-0 showing over Pennsylvania Highlands Community College.

Suffering a 0-1 start to the season, the Barton Call of Duty: Cold War team responded back with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Nassau Community College capping the week three action. In the match clinching decision on checkmate the team of Kindric Castro, Adam Hardin, Jared McFadden, and Randy Sharp each toppled the 30-plus mark in eliminations.

The schedule continues in the upcoming week with nine more regular season slate of games.
