Rainbow 6 Siege captures its second National Championship and program's fourth eSports title #GoBarton

Rainbow 6 Siege NJCAA National Champions

The month long wait would not phase the Barton Community College eSports Rainbow 6 Siege squad as the Cougars secured the program's second ever R6 NJCAA National Championship on Tuesday evening earning a clean 3-0 (7-3, 7-3, 7-2) sweep over St. Clair Community College.

Notching the program's fourth National Championship in its fifth semester existence, the Cougars as a squad concluded the fall semester with a 44-26 overall record. The title game, originally schedule for December 6, was postponed due to a game update forcing the championship into the spring semester.

Head Coach Curtis Rose on the squad winning the second consecutive fall semester championship, "I could not be more proud of the work these guys put in all semester. Having a six week break between the semifinal and championship due to a software update, they remained poised and focused which shows the type of commitment these guys put into our program."

Competing for the National Championship for the third straight semester, Barton made it back-to-back fall semester titles steered by the sophomore-led pack of Joel DuBose, Ashton Ensley, Jared McFadden, and Will Spires, in being joined, by the lone freshman Jacob Fullingim.

Rose on the sophomore leadership, "They set out to defend their crown from last fall and proved they were the most dominant team in the nation regardless of school size, and their undefeated regular season and flawless playoff run proved that."

Next up for the Cougars is the spring semester with Rose stating in closing, "We'll take a couple days to celebrate and then it's back to work hoping to get a season sweep with another trophy to add to the shelf."
