Barton eSports maintains momentum as playoffs approach #GoBarton

Barton eSports Week 5 & 6 results

As the push for the postseason heats up, the Barton Community College eSports program continued to sustain their momentum in week five and six action as the Cougars turned in record of 5-3 and 5-2.

Winners of three straight and seven of their last 10 contests, Barton improves its regular season mark to 31-16 overall. Entering the final week of the regular season, the Cougar gamers will open week seven action on Monday as another X slate of contests await.

Week 5
For the fifth straight Tuesday, Madden 22 gamer Caden Nokleby and the Rainbow 6 Siege group remained perfect at 5-0 clinching winner take all games over North Central Missouri College and St. Clair College respectfully keeping their hopes for a top seed in the postseason alive.

Frank Wilkens made it three straight weeks with a Super Smash Brother victory earning a 3-0 sweep over Mesalands Community College improving to 3-2 on the campaign while counterpart Harley Headley dropped a 3-0 result to Jackson College slipping to 2-3 on the season.

Call of Duty Gunfight pairs of Adam Hardin and Kindric Castro got back in the win column halting their two-match skid with a demolishing 3-0 outcome over Herkimer College improving to 3-2 on the campaign.

Thursday's Mario Kart competition saw mixed results with Hardin sustaining his hot stretch notching his third straight win after starting 0-2 on the year with a 4-3 outcome over Shleton State Community College. Headley dropped his second straight match falling in four straight to Iowa Western Community College dipping his season record to 3-2.

Barton's other defeat of the week came in Rocket League falling in the fifth and decisive game to Harrisburg Area Community College dipping the squads season record to 2-3.

Week 6
The Cougars fell on the wrong side just twice for the week with the first coming in Barton's opening event as the Rocket League clan was unable to get back on the winning side falling 3-0 to Gulford Tech Community College dropping their second straight match.

Tuesday's domination continued for Barton as Nokleby made it six straight weeks with a sweep over Suffolk Community College keeping the hopes of a top seed alive for the NJCAAE postseason.

Looking to defend their fall title from a season ago, the Rainbow 6 Siege followed up Nokleby's victory with a dominating 2-0 outcome over Johnston Community College keeping their sheet clean at 6-0 on the year.

In Super Smash Brothers, Wilkens posted the lone result dropping a 3-0 battle with Mott Community College while teammate Headley's scheduled matchup with Iowa Central Community College was rescheduled for next week.

Getting back into their rhythm was the Call of Duty Gunfight pair of Hardin and Castro making short work of Gulford Tech Community College riding their win streak to two straight and season mark to 4-2.

Capping the weeks action was the Cougars Mario Kart participants with both Hardin and Headley picking up victories over Highland Community College (4-1) and Southern State Community College (4-0) respectfully.
