The 20th ranked Barton Community College baseball team launched seven home runs on 26 hits and scored 32 runs in serving up a pair of run rule 14-4 and 18-5 victories over Seward County Community College Thursday afternoon at Brent Gould Field.

The Cougars mounted a seven-run second frame in rolling to the five inning 14-4 victory in the opener, following with an eight run first inning in the nightcap for the 18-5 nightcap sweep.

Winners of 13 straight, the Cougars improve to 12-2 in the Jayhawk West and 25-6 on the season while the Saints fall to 4-6 in league play and 16-17 overall. The two teams will wrap up the four-game set as the series shifts to Lawson-Biggs Field on Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. twin bill.

All 10 players to step to the plate recorded a hit on the day with all nine starters logging an RBI on the afternoon led by Robby Bolin's five brought across with a home run and trio of walks drawn.

Wyatt Yetter's pair of home runs led Barton's seven round tripper day, as the freshman was one of three to finish with four runs produced joined by Owen Clyne and Grant Nottlemann's 4 RBI afternoons and .500 days at the plate.

Finishing 3-for-4 at the plate on the afternoon, Cole Schieffer launched his second home run of the year while drawing a trio of walks.

Reigning conference pitcher of the week Reece Hemmerling notched his fifth victory of the season improving to 5-1 overall while tossing his second straight complete game yielding seven hits, four runs and striking out five.

In the nightcap Aidan Sowers (5-1) worked four strong permitting three earned runs off six hits and three walks.
