Alex Rodgers Week 8 KJCCC Conference Player of the Week

Alex Rodgers of the Barton Community College baseball team has been tabbed as the week eighth KJCCC Division I Player of the Week.

Rodgers led the top of the lineup this past week with a .565 batting average and 1.329 on-base percentage helping the Cougars to a 6-0 week. Rodgers' pounded out multi-hits in five of his six games collecting 13 knocks of which three for extra bases, driving in three and drawing five walks.

The freshman was a major threat on the base-paths crossing the plate 15 times and swiping nine bags in 10-attempts including a game high four in the Cougars 25-15 win at Garden City.

Rodgers currently sits atop the Region leaderboard with 56 runs scored and 30 stolen bases on the season. 

The award is Rodgers first of the season and his second of his career.

Rogers and the Cougars will return to Lawson-Biggs Field on Thursday in hosting the first leg of  the weekend four pack against the Blue Dragons of Hutchinson Community College with first pitch slated for 1:00 p.m.
