Graham Brunner of the Barton Community College baseball team has been selected first team to the All-Region VI Division I selections announced Friday afternoon.
The sophomore left-hander from Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, completed the season 7-2 winning his last four regular season games on the mound helping the Cougars to a second place conference finish.
Appearing in 13 games with 12 starts, Bruner struck out 65 while walking 28 in his 63.1 innings on the hill posting a Region VI third best 3.84 ERA to lead the Barton pitching staff to a region second best 4.55 team ERA.
Barton's No. 1 hurler, one of four pitchers to make the first team squad, struck out ten or more three times in his abbreviated two-year Barton career, his second best eleven strikeout effort coming this year in a hard luck 4-2 loss at Colby.
Last season in six games started, Brunner was 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA bringing his Barton career totals to 11-2 with a 3.19 ERA with 115 strikeouts.
