Fowler earns No. 11 ranked Barton Baseball's third straight conference weekly award #GoBarton

Kaden Fowler of the No. 11 ranked Barton Community College baseball player has been named the week five KJCCC Kansas MTXE Division I Baseball Player of the Week. The honor joins the consecutive weekly awards of sophomore hurler Josh Hendrickson as the Cougars have garnered distinction for three straight weeks.

Fowler continued his torrid start to the season batting .739 this past week going 17-of-23 from the plate with seven extra base hits. Helping the Cougars to a then-nine straight wins improving to 13-3 on the season, the Towanda, Kansas, sophomore was 10-of-12 away from the home turf in driving in five of his nine RBIs with three extra base hits. Making thirty-two plate appearances, Fowler' .781 on-base percentage led to crossing the plate nineteen times in drawing seven walks and a hit by pitch.

Most recently Fowler added two more extra base hits including a key two RBI double in a 5-of-10 effort helping Barton open conference on Thursday with a sweep of Dodge City. Increasing his nation sixth best and conference leading average to .563 on the season, Fowler either leads or is tied for the team lead with twenty-nine hits, nine doubles, four triples, three home runs, and twenty-one runs batted in.

The Cougars, now 15-3 on the season, resume the four-game set on Saturday with the Conquistadors on Saturday in switching locations to Dodge City's Cavalier Field. First pitch for the conference doubleheader slated for 1:00 p.m.
