The Barton Community College baseball team traded shutouts Friday in Midwest City, Oklahoma, as the Cougars took game one 6-0 while the home standing Raiders took the nightcap 3-0. The teams will wrap up the three-game series on Sunday with a 1:00 p.m. first pitch for the nine inning contest.

Josh Hendrickson teamed with Tanner Howe to spin a three hitter in the opener striking out seven in his five innings of work while Howe surrendered just one hit in the final two innings.

Barton stole six bases in the opener, one in the first by Harrison Denk to set up Kaden Fowler's sacrifice fly giving the Cougars an early one run lead. Dawson Pomeroy's one of two stolen bases set up a two run fourth inning as the Cougars put it away with a three-run sixth behind Brett Huelsmann's two-run single to conclude Hendrickson's day and give Howe a six run cushion.

Rose State took a second inning lead in the night cap despite a leadoff single being erased by Brett Bonar's throw out of a stolen base attempt as a two out hit by pitch would haunt starter Andrew Repp as the Raiders produced a full-count RBI double.

The ensuing inning the Raiders tacked on two quick runs behind a leadoff single, RBI double fouled by a single as the Cougars limited the damage rolling up a Pomeroy to Brett Erickson over to Carson Engroff double play.

Collecting just five hits in the 6-0 win, Barton would manage just four hits with Fowler banging two in the nightcap with the lone real threat coming in the top of the third on Paul Claassen's one-out double to left field.

Repp took the loss in his four innings of work dropping to 1-1 on the season with Jacob Ensz and Easton Smith each pitching one inning no-hitters.
