Coming from behind in sweeping Thursday's action, the Barton Community College baseball team faced a different type of adversity on Friday in wrapping up the four game set at Carl Albert State College in Poteau, Oklahoma. Dropping game one 4-1, the Cougars bounced back in the nightcap to lead through the first three innings before having to claw back again in pulling way for a 13-7 win. Notching fourth year Head Coach Brent Biggs' 100th victory, the 3-1 Cougars will head back to Oklahoma next weekend with a three-game nine inning set at Rose State College in Midwest City.

Jarrett Seaton took the hard luck loss in the opener as back-to-back infield errors began Rose State's home half of the first inning leading to three unearned runs. Allowing three hits in the inning, Seaton would settle down to scatter just three additional hits and strike out four batters while allowing one additional run in his five innings of work.

Barton's only answer came in the following inning with Dawson Pomeroy connecting on the first of his two hits in the contest, scoring one out later on Nolan Riley's first collegiate RBI.

Held to just four hits in game one, the Cougars racked up thirteen in the six-inning shortened nightcap due to darkness as Brett Bonar and Brett Erickson each had three hits combining for three RBIs. Bonar, a sophomore from Rose Hill, had two of those runs batted in, each on solo home runs with his first collegiate long ball leading off the second for a 2-0 Barton lead with the second blast the 7-all equalizer in the top of the fourth.

Harrison Denk, Kaden Fowler, and Paul Claassen each produced two hits with Fowler providing the go-ahead RBI with a double in the Cougars' back breaking four-run fifth inning.

Ottawa freshman Zach Curry made his debut on the hill striking out four before getting chased after 2.1 innings with the eventual win going to Overland Park freshman Tanner Howe entering in the fourth inning pitching 1.2 innings and keeping Carl Albert scoreless.
