The Barton Community College baseball team won its ninth straight with a record performance in Saturday's doubleheader sweep at Colby Community College.  The Cougars took game one 16-10 before finishing off the Trojans in the nine inning nightcap 8-2.  In the process of handing the Trojans their first Saturday sweep, the Cougars' Michael Sinks became Barton's all-time hits leader surpassing George Martinez' 2001-02 mark of 163.  The victories move Barton into a second place tie with the Trojans in the Jayhawk West standings at 17-9 improving to 36-13 as Colby drops to 26-18.  The teams will wrap up the four-game series on Sunday with an 11:00 a.m. first pitch.

Already the Barton career leader in doubles, it was only fitting that Sinks eclipsed the all-time hits mark on a double as the Lawrence sophomore roped a two-bagger to center in leading off the fifth inning to break the 163 mark.  Sinks along with Corrigan Bartlett would kick start the Barton offense with the 1-2 punch at the top of the line-up with 5-for-9 performances.
