The Barton Community College baseball team put an eight spot on the board in Sunday's fifth inning in Midwest City, Oklahoma, earning an 11-7 series victory at Rose State College.  Improving to 5-2 on the season, the Cougars have added a mid-week trip to Bethany College on Wednesday for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch against the junior varsity squad.  Barton will then get to play their first game of the season at Lawson-Biggs Field in a four game set with 1:00 p.m. doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday hosting Western Nebraska Community College.

Splitting the doubleheader on Saturday, the Cougars got off to a great start to Sunday's nine inning series finale as Michael Sinks led off with a double to right field before trotting home on Corrigan Bartlett's blast to centerfield for the Maize sophomore's first long ball of season and third collegiately.

Barton blew open the game in the fifth inning with six singles, two hits and RBI's coming off the bats of Sinks and Bartlett, including Sink's double and Bartlett's second single capping the eight run inning.

Omaha freshman Jarrett Seaton held the Raiders in check through the first five with six strikeouts, surrendering a run in the second and the fifth.  Heading to the mound after the Cougars' long top half of the inning, a one-out single and double set the table for two more runs as a pair of twin two-out singles chased Seaton from the game.  Brant Millerborg struck out the first of his three batters to strand the runners, pitching the next two innings to give Barton solid middle relief.  

Trey Pittman joined Bartlett with team high honors driving in his third of the game with a one-out single to cap Barton's eleven runs on the night.  Rose State would attempt a rally in the final home at-bat, getting three runs on two outs but left the bases loaded on a ground out.

Sinks led the fifteen hit day for the Cougars going 4-for-6 with two doubles leading off the lineup with Bartlett backing him up with a 3-for-5 day including the homerun and three runs batted in.  Joining Pittman with the multi-hit game, Taylor Langston anchored the scoresheet out of the eight hole with a 2-for-4 day including a double and RBI single in the fifth.
