Cougar Baseball dominates in big win over Sterling College JV

The Barton Community College baseball team scored in every inning but one in blasting the junior varsity of Sterling College 15-0 Monday at Lawson-Biggs Field.  The Cougars broke open a 4-0 lead with a seven-run fourth inning to cruise to the seven inning shortened game.  Barton improves to 17-13-1 on the season while Sterling's junior varsity slides to 1-3.  The Cougars will travel to Salina, Kansas, another non-conference game on Wednesday taking on Brown Mackie College in a 5:00 p.m. nine-inning game.  Barton will return to Lawson-Biggs Field next weekend for a four-game non-conference series with MCC-Longview.

While the Cougars were busy pounding out twelve hits in the game, Andrew Ferguson limited the Warrior bats to only one hit through six innings, giving up two in the seventh to improve to 3-0 on the season.

Brian Regan led the Cougars with a 3-4 performance including two triples and driving in four runs.  Seven Cougars in the lineup got a hit with Jacob Richardson, Trevor Turner, and Tyler Jennings joining Regan with multiple hits.
