Cougars take out frustration in 13-3 win over the Coyotes

Coming off a disappointing trip to Concordia on Monday, the Barton Community College baseball team traveled to Salina, Kansas, Wednesday to pound out a 13-3 win against the junior varsity from Kansas Wesleyan University.  Barton broke open a 2-1 game with five runs in the fifth in cruising to the victory.    Barton improves to 14-10-1 on the season while dropping KWU's JV to 1-4.  The Cougars will play another non-conference game on Thursday as Brown Mackie College comes to Lawson-Biggs Field for a 4:00 p.m. nine inning contest.

Getting the most of the playing opportunity, Bryce Minor went 3-5 with two doubles as did Evan McDonald who also drove in two runs.  Wilder Fajardo made an impressive Cougar debut going 2-5 driving in two runs and scoring twice.

Jordan Plank picked up his first victory of the season pitching five solid innings scattering three hits, walking one, and striking out three.
