Erik started in 39 games at Barton, appearing in 41 of the Cougars' contests. As a catcher, Erik hit 4 homeruns with a batting average of .284 and 12 runs driven in. Erik also racked up a .979 fielding percentage as Barton's backstop.

High School/Club:

Erik started four seasons and lettered two playing at Heritage High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. During his junior campaign he batted .376, crushed 4 homeruns, and knocked in 39 RBI’s. Erik helped his team become Continental League Champs and finish 3rd in the 5A State Finals in 2003. He played in the Junior Olympics for the Cherry Creek Bruins in 2002. Baseball America ranked Erik as the 10th best catcher prospect in Colorado during the 2004 season and was named All Colorado Player by Triple Crown Sports in 2003.
