First year at Barton:

Michael started 33 games for Barton, while making a total of 39 appearances. He batted .265 while blasting 5 homeruns and driving home 26 runs. 

High School/Club:

Michael was a two-year letter winner and one-year starter for Great Bend High School. During his junior season he batted .350, whacked 2 homeruns, drove in 20 RBI’s stole 5 bases and posted a .980 fielding percentage. Michael helped his team earn WAC Titles during the 2002 and 2003 seasons, Regional Titles during the 2002 and 2003 seasons and a runner up finish at the State Tournament during the 2003 campaign. He received Honorable Mention All WAC honors. While playing for the Great Bend Chiefs summer team, Michael batted .430, hit 3 homeruns, snagged 10 bases and finished with a fielding percentage of .990.
