Hines signs to play baseball for Barton County in 2005
The Barton County Community College baseball team signed Ryan Hines to a letter-of-intent to pitch for the Cougars in the 2005 season. Hines is currently a senior at Millard North High School in Omaha, Neb, where he pitches and plays some 1st base for the baseball team.
Hines was a starting pitcher for Millard North last season as the team made it to the state tournament after finishing as the district runner-up. Hines posted a 4.01 ERA with 48 strikeouts and 26 walks in 43 2/3 innings. The 6-5 lefthander held opponents to a .242 batting average as well on his way to being named all-conference as a junior.
Hines has been a member of the Honor Roll all four years at Millard North with a GPA of 3.65 and scored a 27 on his ACT. He also participated in swimming at the school all four years, earning the MVP of the swimming team his senior season.
