McBride to play baseball for Cougars in 2005
The Barton County Community College baseball team signed in-state prospect Brett McBride to play baseball during the 2005 campaign. McBride is one of the first players to sign with the Cougars. McBride is currently a senior at Lawrence High School and works both sides of the ball as a 1st baseman and a pitcher.



During the summer, McBride has played and started 3 years for the KC Sluggers in the Connie Mack League. During his sophomore season with the Sluggers he pitched his way to a 10-2 record, posting a 2.50 ERA. During his junior season he recorded an 8-3 record to go along with a 4.20 ERA.
