Kramer to play for Barton baseball next season
The Barton County Community College baseball team inked Lucas Kramer to pitch for the Cougars next season. Kramer is a recent graduate of Pratt High School where he played for legendary coach Smoky Ford. The left-hander also plays summer baseball for Ford and the Pratt 86ers.



Kramer was a 4-year starter for Pratt High School going 14-8 over his career with the Greenbacks. His freshman season the Greenbacks finished 17-5 and made a trip to the Class 4A state tournament. Kramer received Mid State Activities Association honors both his junior and senior season with the Greenbacks. As a junior he was tabbed honorable mention pitcher (4-1, 2.43 ERA) and 1st baseman (.421) for the season. This past season as one of the few upperclassman for the Greenbacks, Kramer again earned 1st team All-MSAA honors as a pitcher and outfielder. Kramer ended his career at Pratt by being named the top Senior Athlete at the school.

Kramer was also very successful in American Legion baseball. This is his 4th season with the 86ers posting records of 5-3, 6-3, 10-1, and so far this season 9-1 for a combined legion mark of 30-8.

Kramer starred in 3 sports while at Pratt High. In addition to the baseball honors, Kramer wrestled for 4 years and played football for 3 years with the Greenbacks, helping him earn the Senior Athlete of the Year at PHS. He qualified for the state wrestling tournament 4 years and placed twice. He was an honorable mention all-MSAA pick this past season in football on both offense and defense including quarterback on the offensive side. The Greenbacks won the MSAA in football his senior season as well as District and Bi-District before losing in the Regionals. Kramer also graduate with a GPA above 3.0.
