Cougars season comes to end with loss to Cowley
The Barton County Community College baseball team saw what was a very successful season come to a sudden end with a loss in the loser's bracket at the Region VI Baseball Championships. The Cougars, the 2nd seed in the West, lost to the top seed from the East Cowley County, also an upset victim in the 1st round, by a 15-10 score. That ended Barton's season at 37-20. Seward County (46-14) won the Championships and will move on to the NJCAA World Series.

Highlights
Barton dug an early hole for itself in the contest, falling behind 6-0 after the 1st 2 innings. But the Cougars would not go that quietly. Barton rallied with 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd to cut the Tiger lead to 6-4.



Cowley again pulled away from Barton with 2 runs in the 3rd and 1 more in the 4th for a 9-4 advantage. Barton again rallied from that deficit. This time the Cougars evened the scored with a 5-run bottom of the 6th inning. Cowley retook the lead in the 7th with a pair of runs and Barton cut it to 11-10 in the bottom of the 7th. That would be the Cougars' final run though as Cowley tacked on 4 more for the 15-10 win to end Barton's season.
