Hurla signs to play baseball for Barton County
Tony Hurla signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball for Barton County Community College next season. Hurla is a senior at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Shawnee, Kan.

Hurla a two-year starter had a .367 batting average and knocked in 16 runs during his junior season. Last summer, he hit .424 with three homers and 33 runs batted in for his team.

Hurla lettered in football his sophomore, junior and senior seasons at Shawnee Mission. He also has been on the 4.0 honor roll every year during high school.
