Freiberger signs to play baseball for Barton County
Josh Freiberger signed a letter-of-intent to play baseball for Barton County Community College next season. Freiberger is a senior at Alliance High School in Alliance, Neb.

Alliance High School does not offer baseball, but Freiberger played summer baseball for the Alliance Spartans American Legion team for the past three years. Last year he hit .365 for the Spartans, with 31 home runs and 170 RBI as an infielder. Freiberger also did some pitching for the Spartans, posting a 3.20 ERA with 260 strikeouts and just 48 walks.

Freiberger was also a football star at Alliance High School, earning All-Conference, All-District, and Honorable Mention All-State as a quarterback for the Alliance. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Freiberger is an honor roll student.
